Description

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer – Trading Platforms
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Compensation: $165,000–$180,000

If you thrive in complex, real-time environments where precision matters and milliseconds count, this role offers a rare opportunity to directly influence the reliability of mission critical trading systems. You won’t just test features - you’ll shape quality strategy across sophisticated financial products including equities, margin, options, and digital assets. This is a hands-on senior role embedded within product engineering, where you’ll design scalable automation frameworks, strengthen release confidence, and help evolve testing practices across the entire software development lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks using Java, Cucumber (BDD), RestAssured, Playwright, and TypeScript
  • Develop and execute automated tests across REST APIs, FIX protocol integrations, Kafka-based systems, and UI layers
  • Validate end-to-end trading workflows including order lifecycle management, margin processing, post-trade flows, and digital asset transactions
  • Create comprehensive test plans, regression suites, and scenario coverage for complex financial systems
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and continuously improve coverage and quality standards
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to define testing strategy and enhance release confidence
  • Participate in test reviews, bug triage sessions, and production issue investigations
  • Contribute to improving QA best practices, automation maturity, and overall SDLC efficiency
Role Requirements
  • 8–10 years of QA experience within financial services or trading platforms
  • Strong hands-on Java programming skills
  • Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber), API automation (RestAssured), UI automation (Playwright), and modern test tooling
  • Experience testing REST APIs, FIX protocol, and event-driven architectures (Kafka)
  • Understanding of margin trading and digital asset workflows
  • Experience with AWS, Git, Jenkins, SQL/Postgres, and JIRA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong analytical thinking, debugging ability, and communication skills
