Front Office IT Business Analyst – Electronic Trading & Equities

Join a highly visible front office technology team supporting electronic trading and pre-trade platforms across equities, securities financing, rates, FX, and global markets products. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with trading desks and technology teams on mission-critical trading applications, algorithmic trading workflows, and real-time execution platforms in a fast-paced capital markets environment.

The team supports a sophisticated ecosystem of electronic trading solutions and in-house applications used globally across front office operations. Responsibilities

• Partner with traders, business stakeholders, and technology teams to gather and document requirements for electronic and algorithmic trading applications
• Analyze front office workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements
• Create detailed functional specifications, user stories, and use cases to support development efforts
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• Support real-time trading and execution platforms across equities and securities financing businesses
• Assist with testing, validation, and rollout of new features and platform enhancements
• Conduct data analysis to support business decisions, trading workflows, and operational improvements
• Facilitate communication between global business and technology teams to ensure alignment on priorities and deliverables
• Provide ongoing production support and assist end users with platform-related inquiries and troubleshooting

Requirements

• 5–9 years of Business Analyst experience within financial services or capital markets
• Strong front office experience supporting trade execution or electronic trading platforms
• Understanding of the full trade execution lifecycle and various order types
• Experience working with in-house trading applications or execution management systems
• Knowledge of equities, securities financing, or algorithmic trading environments
• Strong analytical skills with experience using SQL, Excel, FIX messaging, or related data analysis tools
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects forward with minimal oversight
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or related field

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to trading and execution platforms such as Fidessa, Bloomberg EMSX, Horizon, ION, Dash, or similar technologies
• Experience supporting real-time trading applications in fast-paced front office environments
