Overview

We are supporting a leading financial services organisation undertaking a Treasury operating model transformation focused on process optimisation, automation, controls enhancement, and operational efficiency.

The business is seeking an experienced Interim Treasury Manager to lead the day-to-day Treasury Operations function while identifying, designing, and implementing opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reporting capabilities, and strengthen the overall control environment.

This role will suit someone who enjoys combining hands-on Treasury management with process improvement and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Treasury Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day Treasury Operations function, including:
    • Cash forecasting and liquidity management
    • Payment processing and controls
    • Bank reconciliations
    • FX exposure monitoring and reporting
  • Oversee bank account administration and Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI).
  • Manage internal and external loan administration.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Treasury-related matters across Finance and the wider business.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.

Treasury Transformation & Automation

  • Review existing Treasury processes and identify opportunities for automation, standardisation, and efficiency improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce manual intervention across Treasury workflows through technology, process redesign, and enhanced controls.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, and Operations teams to streamline reporting, data flows, reconciliations, and operational processes.
  • Develop scalable Treasury processes that support future business growth.
  • Drive improvements in management information and reporting capabilities through automation and enhanced data utilisation.

Controls & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess and strengthen the Treasury control framework.
  • Implement best-practice operational procedures and governance processes.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across the Treasury function.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong Treasury Operations experience within a financial services, fintech, or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering process improvement, automation, or Treasury transformation initiatives.
  • Experience leveraging Treasury systems, ERP platforms, workflow tools, or data solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of Treasury controls, payments, liquidity management, cash forecasting, and banking operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills with an analytical, data-driven approach; exposure to Power BI, Alteryx, Python, or automation tools would be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to operate in fast-paced environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence change across Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.
