Work Location: 3 days onsite, NYC or Central Jersey
Terms: Direct Hire, $100k-130k

Are you passionate about building scalable enterprise platforms that power strategic decisionmaking and Agile delivery? This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and optimizing mission-critical systems that drive portfolio visibility, financial transparency, and team productivity across the organization.

As a Senior Platform Administrator, you will own and evolve the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and Atlassian ecosystem (Jira and Confluence). You will have the opportunity to influence platform strategy, lead modernization initiatives, and enhance integrations that connect planning, delivery, and reporting. This role combines technical depth, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic impact - making it ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on engineering and enterprise-level platform governance. You will work closely with portfolio leadership, finance, Agile enablement teams, and technology partners to design and deliver solutions that align technology capabilities with business priorities.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Own the administration, configuration, customization, and ongoing support of ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and Jira/Confluence (Data Center and/or Cloud environments).
  • Ensure platform availability, performance, reliability, and security, including management of third-party applications and marketplace add-ons.
  • Lead system upgrades, release impact assessments, testing cycles, and continuous platform health optimization.
  • Perform proactive maintenance activities such as data archiving, user and permission audits, cleanup, and reduction of unnecessary customizations.
  • Configure and enhance workflows, automation, issue types, fields, screens, and permission models to meet evolving business needs and maintain alignment across systems.
  • Design, implement, and maintain integrations with DevOps, CI/CD, source control, and other enterprise platforms to ensure seamless data flow and operational stability.
  • Establish and enforce governance standards, usage policies, and operating procedures aligned with enterprise technology strategy.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to roadmap planning, demand management, and prioritization of platform enhancements.
  • Monitor system performance, define KPIs, and develop dashboards, reports, and automation to support operational visibility and strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for platform-related issues, enhancements, and initiatives, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and best practice guidance; deliver user training and post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with portfolio management, Agile enablement, IT, DevOps, and other technology teams to enhance platform capabilities and user experience.
  • Support platform modernization efforts, including migration initiatives from on-premises/Data Center environments to cloud-based solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development and administration, with a focus on Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).
  • 5+ years of experience administering Jira and Confluence (Data Center and/or Cloud), including configuration and customization.
  • Strong understanding of Atlassian Cloud administration and organizational management.
  • Experience with platform release management, deployment processes, and plugin lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in JQL and scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience implementing and managing Jira plugins and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and IT service management practices.
  • Experience integrating Jira with DevOps and CI/CD tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Solid understanding of user management, permission schemes, and platform security best practices.
  • Experience managing Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure services (compute, databases, networking, monitoring).
  • Experience collaborating with database administrators, DevOps teams, and file transfer/integration platforms.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with system and API integrations across enterprise platforms.
  • Hands-on experience migrating Jira/Confluence from Data Center to Cloud environments.
  • Relevant Atlassian certifications (Cloud or Data Center administration).
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) or equivalent certification.
