Data Analyst
Location: New York City (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Terms: 12 month contract

You’ll play a key role in analyzing diverse datasets, partnering with subject matter experts, and delivering insights that directly influence business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and analyze data from a variety of internal and external systems to support business initiatives
- Perform in-depth exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation, cleansing, and standardization processes
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across functions such as finance, operations, and marketing to understand business challenges
- Lead discussions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to gather requirements and refine analytical approaches
- Translate business needs into clear data requirements and ensure alignment with analytical outputs
- Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Apply statistical techniques to generate insights that support strategic decision-making
- Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling way
- Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and streamline data discovery processes
- Document data sources, methodologies, and outputs to support transparency and repeatability
- Support the evolution of data governance standards and best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus)
- 5-8+ years of experience in data analysis with a strong emphasis on data exploration and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders or subject matter experts to deliver data-driven insights
- Strong SQL skills for querying and working with large datasets
- Experience with Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
- Experience with Axiom is preferred / nice to have
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex data concepts
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus
- Exposure to statistical modeling or machine learning concepts is a bonus
