Description

Data Analyst
Location: New York City (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Terms: 12 month contract

We are looking for a data-driven professional who thrives in exploratory analysis and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with business stakeholders to uncover insights, shape data requirements, and translate complex information into meaningful, actionable outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in analyzing diverse datasets, partnering with subject matter experts, and delivering insights that directly influence business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and analyze data from a variety of internal and external systems to support business initiatives
  • Perform in-depth exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation, cleansing, and standardization processes
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts across functions such as finance, operations, and marketing to understand business challenges
  • Lead discussions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to gather requirements and refine analytical approaches
  • Translate business needs into clear data requirements and ensure alignment with analytical outputs
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms
  • Apply statistical techniques to generate insights that support strategic decision-making
  • Communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and compelling way
  • Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility and streamline data discovery processes
  • Document data sources, methodologies, and outputs to support transparency and repeatability
  • Support the evolution of data governance standards and best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (advanced degree is a plus)
  • 5-8+ years of experience in data analysis with a strong emphasis on data exploration and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business stakeholders or subject matter experts to deliver data-driven insights
Technical Skills
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and working with large datasets
  • Experience with Python, R, or similar tools for data analysis
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
  • Experience with Axiom is preferred / nice to have

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus
