IT Business Analyst II – Pre-Trade Systems
Contract Role 
Hybrid in Midtown, NYC


We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to support a peak delivery period within a global pre-trade technology environment. This role sits within a front-office–aligned IT function responsible for delivering reliable, real-time trading solutions across multiple asset classes, including macro products, equities, securities financing, and credit. The position offers the opportunity to work on algorithmic trading and real-time applications, partnering closely with business stakeholders and technology teams throughout the full software development lifecycle, within an agile delivery model.

Key Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for algorithmic trading platforms and real-time trading applications
• Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, particularly within securities financing and equities
• Develop and maintain functional specifications, use cases, and process documentation to guide development teams
• Act as a liaison between business users, developers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on scope, priorities, and deliverables
• Perform data analysis to support trading strategies, operational efficiency, and decision-making
• Support testing and validation activities, ensuring new features and enhancements meet defined business requirements
• Provide post-implementation support, including user assistance and contribution to training or knowledge-sharing activities

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within financial services or capital markets
• Strong understanding of equities and securities financing markets
• Experience working with algorithmic trading platforms and real-time trading systems
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Excel, and messaging standards (e.g., FIX)
• Solid experience working in agile delivery environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across geographically distributed teams
• Strong analytical mindset with a high level of attention to detail and problem solving capability

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline
