Senior Platform Engineer
Work Location: 4 days onsite, NYC

Overview:
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced Platform Engineer to help build and scale a modern, cloud-native infrastructure that powers critical applications and data platforms. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of platform innovation—designing highly scalable systems, enabling developer productivity, and driving automation across the entire software lifecycle. You’ll work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to modernize applications, implement best-in-class DevOps practices, and deliver resilient, high-performing platforms that support complex, business-critical workloads.

Key Responsibilities
Platform Engineering & Cloud Infrastructure
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native infrastructure solutions
  • Build and operate containerized environments using Kubernetes and supporting ecosystem tools
  • Lead the adoption of modern infrastructure patterns, including microservices, serverless, and container-based architectures
  • Support the migration and modernization of legacy systems into cloud-native environments

Infrastructure as Code & Automation
  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code frameworks to enable consistent and repeatable deployments
  • Establish and enforce best practices for infrastructure scalability, resiliency, and security
  • Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management

CI/CD & DevOps Enablement
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated, reliable application and infrastructure deployments
  • Partner with engineering teams to streamline development workflows and improve release velocity
  • Promote DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including automated testing, secure deployments, and continuous delivery

Kubernetes & Container Ecosystem
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters and associated tooling
  • Leverage ecosystem tools for deployment automation, observability, and cluster optimization
  • Continuously improve platform performance, scalability, and reliability

Operational Excellence & Reliability
  • Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies for critical systems
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, including root cause analysis and long-term remediation strategies
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance platform capabilities and operational efficiency

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with developers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable platform solutions
  • Provide guidance on architecture, performance optimization, and cloud-native best practices
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and its core services
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems
  • Experience working in Linux-based environments
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python or shell scripting
  • Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) in enterprise environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing security best practices within Kubernetes environments
  • Exposure to MLOps or data-intensive workloads in containerized platforms
  • Experience working across multiple Kubernetes environments (cloud-managed and self-hosted)
  • Familiarity with open-source cloud-native technologies and CNCF ecosystem tools
  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and performance optimization frameworks
