Senior ML Engineer, Recommendations (Mandarin Speaker)
Series A GenAI Startup | Remote, PST preferred

We’re working with an early-stage AI company building highly personalised, dynamic user experiences powered by real-time data and machine learning.

They’re hiring an ML Engineer (Recommendations) to own and scale the systems that decide what users see, interact with, and come back for.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys shipping models into production, not just training them.

The role

Build and iterate on recommendation and ranking systems
Design and deploy models for personalisation and content discovery
Own data pipelines, feature engineering, and model performance
Run experiments and continuously improve relevance and engagement
Work closely with product and engineering to integrate models into user-facing systems

What you’ll bring

Experience building recommendation, ranking, or personalisation systems
Strong Python and ML fundamentals (training, evaluation, iteration)
Experience shipping models into production environments
Familiarity with real-time or event-driven systems
Product mindset, you care about impact on user behaviour

Nice to have

Experience with LLMs in recommendation or hybrid systems
Background in consumer, marketplace, or content platforms
Experience with experimentation frameworks (A/B testing, metrics)
Familiarity with large-scale data systems
