Description

Full-Stack Engineer (Who Likes Owning Things)

We build software that helps Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations do their work better.

We’re small, scrappy, profitable, and independent — no VCs, no board pressure, no growth-at-all-costs chaos. Just a focused team building useful tools that make a real-world difference.

If you like autonomy, care about privacy, and want your work to actually matter, keep reading.

What You’d Actually Be Doing

You’d be one of a handful of engineers building and improving our core platform.

Most of your time will be backend-heavy — designing APIs, shipping features, thinking through data models — with some frontend work as needed. You’ll also spend time digging into data: building dashboards, answering internal questions, tightening up pipelines, and helping us make smarter decisions.

This isn’t a “ticket factory” job. You’ll:

  • Own projects end-to-end

  • Make architectural calls

  • Ship things quickly

  • See your work used in live campaigns

We value people who can think independently, move without a ton of oversight, and care about getting things right.

You’ll Probably Do Well Here If You:

  • Have 2+ years of professional engineering experience

  • Are strong in Python and SQL

  • Can move comfortably between product thinking and technical implementation

  • Have built backend systems with a modern framework

  • Know your way around data analysis and dashboards

  • Are comfortable working remotely on a small team

  • Can overlap with US time zones

Bonus points if you’ve worked with:

  • Ruby on Rails

  • TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Svelte)

  • Analytics tools like Metabase, Looker, or Tableau

  • Workflow tools like Airflow or Dagster

  • Stats or ML concepts

But none of those are dealbreakers.

What It’s Like to Work Here

  • Fully remote

  • Up to $150K salary

  • No outside investors telling us what to build

  • Small team, high trust, low bureaucracy

  • Real impact on real campaigns

  • Room to grow quickly because you’ll be doing meaningful work from day one

If you’re energized by ownership, motivated by mission, and excited about building products that matter — we should talk.
