Description

Swaps Middle Office – Senior Associate / VP

The Role

We are hiring an experienced Swaps Middle Office professional to own the post-trade lifecycle of our swaps business, including equity swaps, total return swaps, and related financing products. You will be the link between trading, sales, operations, finance, risk, and technology. You will make sure trades are booked accurately, positions and P&L are reconciled, and exceptions are resolved quickly. You will also help scale the platform through process improvement and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Validate and confirm swap trade bookings, including economics, corporate actions, resets, and lifecycle events, with trading and sales.
  • Own daily position, cash, and P&L reconciliations. Investigate and resolve breaks and escalate material issues.
  • Manage the end-to-end swap lifecycle: resets, dividends, financing accruals, corporate actions, terminations, and amendments.
  • Work with Operations, Finance, and Treasury to ensure accurate margin, collateral, and funding calculations.
  • Handle client and counterparty queries on trade details, valuations, and statements.
  • Help maintain and improve controls, documentation, and regulatory reporting for swaps (e.g., SBSR, Dodd-Frank, EMIR).
  • Partner with Engineering and Product to define requirements, test releases, and automate manual workflows.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in middle office, trade support, or operations covering swaps or other OTC derivatives at a bank, broker-dealer, or prime broker.
  • Strong knowledge of equity swaps and total return swap lifecycle, financing, and collateral and margin mechanics.
  • Solid understanding of ISDA documentation, confirmations, and trade reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and the ability to find the root cause of breaks.
  • Clear communicator who works well with traders, clients, and technical teams.
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience with prime brokerage or synthetic prime brokerage platforms.
  • Familiarity with trade capture and post-trade systems, and with automation of operational workflows.
  • Exposure to start-up or scaling environments.
