We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering to head up the Device Graph team. We seek a leader who can create and maintain the collaborative culture of Tapad. Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited by the opportunity to innovate in the field of data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. S/he empowers teams of engineers, drives the very evolution of the product and delivery of our unique and differentiating intellectual property. The ideal candidate will manage stakeholders’ needs, communicate those needs across teams, and create a positive and pragmatic culture of problem-solving.

Our Director of Engineering must be a strong technologist, but also a keen listener and leader. The Director of Engineering will report to the overall Head of Engineering in NYC.

Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in Tapad products, architecture, and systems
  • Manage multiple teams of software engineers
  • Participate in technical design and direction
  • Lead and facilitate collaboration across teams, functions and offices

Technologies We Use:

  • Scala, SBT
  • Scalding, Spark
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, BigTable, BigQuery

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or closely related degree
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • A proven track record in technical leadership
  • Experienced as a software developer and technical lead/architect
  • Experience in working on large-scale, distributed systems
  • Expertise in applying Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence on large scale data
  • Experience building and managing multiple engineering teams
  • Experience facilitating collaboration between geographically distributed teams
  • Deep knowledge of the full software development life cycle and Agile methodologies
