Description
Job Title: Credit & Lending Operations Analyst
Role Location: NYC (Midtown) - Hybrid, 3 days per week onsite
Terms: Long-term Contract
This is a high-impact opportunity to step into a central role within a complex lending and financial risk environment, supporting large-scale transactions across multiple business lines. You’ll be at the heart of the deal lifecycle—from structuring and closing through ongoing monitoring—working closely with front office teams, risk, legal, and operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strong client outcomes.
The role offers strong visibility, cross-functional exposure, and the chance to influence process improvements while building deep expertise in credit operations, risk management, and structured finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the full credit lifecycle, including pre-closing, deal execution, ongoing monitoring, and repayment activities
- Partner closely with front office teams to provide operational expertise and ensure seamless deal execution
- Review credit agreements to confirm alignment with approved terms and escalate discrepancies as needed
- Coordinate deal closing activities, ensuring all conditions precedent are satisfied prior to funding
- Oversee the booking and setup of transactions in internal loan systems, validating accuracy and completeness
- Monitor deals post-closing, including amendments, waivers, and lifecycle events, ensuring proper documentation and system updates
- Track and manage covenants and collateral, ensuring timely reporting, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Perform ongoing financial monitoring, including review of borrower reporting, cash flows, and key performance indicators
- Identify and escalate covenant breaches or potential credit risks to relevant stakeholders
- Support funding operations, reconciliations, and payment processing activities
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, risk, finance, compliance, and external partners
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, controls, and overall service delivery
- Maintain regular communication with clients to support financing requests and ongoing servicing needs
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit operations, or asset financing within a financial institution
- Strong understanding of credit processes, loan documentation, and financial risk management
- Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret key ratios and performance metrics
- Experience working with loan servicing or credit systems (e.g., loan management platforms) is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
