twentyAI is currently supporting a global Commodities trading firm who are looking for a Accounting and Reporting Manager to join the finance function. You'll play a pivotal role in driving financial decision-making and collaboration across the organization. They are seeking a talented individual to lead coordination efforts between front, middle, and back-office teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.

This role offers the opportunity to build and strengthen relationships not only within the Finance Department but also with other key stakeholders. Additionally, you'll oversee the performance of the Financial Reporting & Analysis function, employing key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Establish team goals and ensure all staff have performance contracts aligned with Finance and team objectives. Ensure clear communication of goals and expectations for each team member's contribution to achieving them.
  • Oversee all aspects of the month-end close process, including pre-month forecasting, the close itself, and subsequent review and validation activities.
  • Manage the entire annual audit process to ensure timely completion and filing.
  • Develop, enhance, and implement control procedures and processes across the FR&A function. Strengthen the FR&A control structure to ensure compliant operations while improving service offerings.
  • Maintain and update the core accounting package (SAP) to ensure efficient processes.
  • Support the annual budgetary process.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline activities and drive efficiency while maintaining control. Lead and manage the implementation of enhancements to ETRM, SAP, or other FR&A-related systems.
  • Take ownership of the company Accounting Policy, ensuring team understanding and stakeholder engagement with relevant points.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Banking, Commercial, Maritime Studies, or equivalent.
  • Suitable professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Demonstrated experience, including management responsibilities, within energy or commodities trading.
  • Thorough comprehension of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
  • Exceptional teamwork, networking, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant systems and software.
