Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Network Engineer, you will assess and document existing building networks and deploy a converged network solution in commercial high-rise buildings. This includes migrating and integrating third-party systems and devices onto the new centralized network infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting existing deployed networks.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively supports efforts to simplify and enhance the deployment of new network installations.
- Assesses and documents legacy network systems, devices, IP addresses, and security protocols.
- Configures equipment and deploys the converged network solution, migrating existing networks onto it.
- Interfaces with clients and third-party vendors to communicate network capabilities and topology.
- Troubleshoots deployed networks and facilitates the integration of new third-party equipment and devices.
- Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission, and signaling links and protocols.
- Works on projects related to network planning, configuration, integration, and optimization.
- Provides escalated tier support across organizations and to third-party vendors, including on-call support.
- Supports the development and documentation of organizational and technical standards and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of three years of relevant network engineering experience.
- Knowledge of data networking (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport).
- Expertise in troubleshooting multi-service network systems of moderate complexity.
- Familiarity with firewalls and security protocols (Palo Alto experience is a plus).
- Understanding of VLAN and VPN standards.
- Knowledge of WiFi configurations and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
