JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Network Engineer, you will assess and document existing building networks and deploy a converged network solution in commercial high-rise buildings. This includes migrating and integrating third-party systems and devices onto the new centralized network infrastructure, as well as troubleshooting existing deployed networks.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively supports efforts to simplify and enhance the deployment of new network installations.
  • Assesses and documents legacy network systems, devices, IP addresses, and security protocols.
  • Configures equipment and deploys the converged network solution, migrating existing networks onto it.
  • Interfaces with clients and third-party vendors to communicate network capabilities and topology.
  • Troubleshoots deployed networks and facilitates the integration of new third-party equipment and devices.
  • Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission, and signaling links and protocols.
  • Works on projects related to network planning, configuration, integration, and optimization.
  • Provides escalated tier support across organizations and to third-party vendors, including on-call support.
  • Supports the development and documentation of organizational and technical standards and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of three years of relevant network engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of data networking (OSI Model, TCP/IP, Optical Transport).
  • Expertise in troubleshooting multi-service network systems of moderate complexity.
  • Familiarity with firewalls and security protocols (Palo Alto experience is a plus).
  • Understanding of VLAN and VPN standards.
  • Knowledge of WiFi configurations and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
